About the Founder

Dr. Emad Mousavi is a professional engineer with a PhD degree in civil-structural engineering from Texas A&M University, with a research interest in assessing uncertainties in safety and integrity of structural systems. He is the founder of Licensed Structural Engineers, Inc. Dr Mousavi has a broad experience in offshore, structural, and construction engineering. From deep water risers and other structures to repair and rehabilitation of old buildings and from building or remodeling of residential and commercial projects to engineering support in airports or bridge projects, he has accumulated technical and leadership experience in a wide variety of projects. He monitors every step personally to ensure the highest level of quality of structural projects and inspections is delivered. 

During the past 20 years Dr. Mousavi has published dozens of research papers in prestigious US and international journals, which are cited by hundreds of domestic and international scholars. These articles cover topics related to structural safety and integrity, concrete rebar corrosion, coastal and offshore structures and other relevant topics. Research on rebar corrosion has been part of research interest of Dr. Mousavi from his early career. For example his work on concrete rebar corrosion on some old structures was published in ACI journal of Concrete International in 2007 (see the article here t.ly/D5Wh).
